Linda Batiancela Bridgehampton In 1990 Linda Batiancela, a native Staten Islander, came to the Hamptons with some friends looking to rent a house for the summer. Linda, who had her real estate license since the early 1980's, liked the area so much and the idea of investing in property here, she convinced everyone to buy a house instead. It turned out to be a wise investment; everyone got to enjoy the house in the summer and made a profit when the house was sold. By that time Linda was attached to the area and moved here permanently in 1995. Reinvesting her "summer rental house" money in a commercial endeavor, Linda became one of the partners in The Swamp/Annex restaurant on the Montauk Highway in Wainscott. Linda spent six years as part-owner/manager of The Swamp/Annex before buying her own restaurant, Magnolia on Main Street Sag Harbor, in 2001. During that time Linda began to dabble in real estate sales again, working out of a Bridgehampton office until the needs of the restaurant were too demanding. After a very successful run, Linda sold and closed Magnolia in the fall of 2006 and turned to a full time real estate career with Town & Country's East Hampton office. Before moving to the Hamptons, Linda spent five years working in an administrative capacity at a psychiatric hospital. While she enjoyed the work she left there determined to work for herself whenever possible. Loving the idea of freedom and independance as well as owning her own business Linda got her Real Estate License and opened two retail shoe stores which she ran for 10 years. Always the persuasive salesperson Linda convinced her mother and sister to get their real estate licenses, giving birth to two of the most successful real estate agents in Staten Island. With her mother and sister flourishing in full time real estate careers and having grown up with a father who was in the building and electrical contracting business for over 40 years the switch over to a full time real estate career was simply written in the stars for Linda Batiancela. Through all her varied business successes Linda continued to learn more and more about sales and customer service. As Linda puts it; "In a competitive market, no matter what the business is, service and the ability to understand the needs and wants of your customers and clients is what people remember most. In any sales situation you need to go that extra mile to make it work." Linda knows from her years in retail and restaurants that building lasting relationships with customers and letting them know you are there for them is key. Her energy, optimism and wonderful sense of humor shine thru no matter where she is working. Linda is known as a determined and fair business woman and has brought all her expertise to her "new" career with Town & Country. Linda lives in Sag Harbor (having recently moved from Bridgehampton) and feels fortunate to live and work in a paradise called the Hamptons. Now that she isn't living the demanding life of a restaurant owner seven days a week she enjoys her hobbies of cooking (having attended a Peter Kumps Cooking School) and traveling. |
